Obituary of Hilda L. Michael, 84

Hilda L. Michael, 84, of rural Bellefonte, passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Monday, October 23, 2017. Hilda was born in Philipsburg on March 28, 1933, the daughter of the late Daniel Wellar and Melda Swisher Fleischer.

On December 5, 1953, she married John H. Michael who preceded her in death on October 24, 1997. Hilda is survived by her daughter, Irene L. Lee of Howard, her sons, Robert H. Michael of Chester, VA., Steven K. Michael of rural Bellefonte and Charles H. Michael of Baltimore MD; her sisters, Lola Young of Julian, Vendetta Haines of Milesburg and her brother Wilbur Wellar of Morrisdale. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Hilda was a homemaker who enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, and crocheting. But she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was of the Protestant faith.

Along with her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Phoebe Stathes, Viola Martin, Jenny Keller and her brother, Dolan Swisher.

Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bob Dornan officiating. Burial will be in the Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., Pa.
