Obituary of Ida Mae Meyer,, 80

Ida Mae Meyer, 80 of Lamar, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was born in Bellefonte on November 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Verna M. Poorman Ishler.

She married Jarvis W. Meyer Jr. on February 28, 1948 in Harrisburg. He preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Walker Twp. Schools. Ida was a homemaker but had also worked at Sylvania and Island Poultry. She was active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Snydertown where she served many years as treasurer. She was active in Social Ministries and served as Sunday School Teacher.

Ida enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and attending Grange Fair.

Surviving are two daughters; Linda and husband Terry Simpson and Joyce and husband Allen Hosband, a son; Larry and wife Judy Meyer, six sisters; Mary and Shirley Meyer, Grace Harter, Patsy and husband William Hollobaugh, Janet and husband Robert Wilson and Norma Gummo, two brothers; Ralph and wife Carol Ishler and Theodore "Ted" and wife Dixie Ishler, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six step great grandchilddren and a special friend John.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Rd.. Howard with the Rev. Ruth Kocha Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
