Jack C. Falk, 84, of State College, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born October 22, 1928, in Houtzdale, he was the son of the late Christian and Lovenia Rafferty Falk. On May 7, 1955, he married Mary Lorbetsky at St. Barbara’s Church in Houtzdale. They recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one sister in-law, Helen Sicktich and her husband, Daniel and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Robert Falk and one sister, Betty F. Hagan.

He was a 1946 graduate of Houtzdale High School. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Finance from the Pennsylvania State University in 1950. Jack attended the GE Executive Leadership Training Program in Schenectady, NY. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After military service, Jack became Federal Savings’ Loan Officer in 1953 and President in 1980. He was a member and chairman of the Pennsylvania Savings Institutions Association.

He was active in the community as president of Kiwanis, Centre Hills Country Club and served on the board of the Presbyterian Church Trustees; Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Centre Community Foundation and YMCA; and Republican Committee Chairman. He volunteered time on Borough Planning and Traffic commissions. Jack was a recipient of a CBICC 1955 Outstanding Service Award and he managed Falk Reality, a family enterprise. He was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 at the State College Presbyterian Church, 132 W Beaver Avenue, State College with the Reverend Joel T. Blunk officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
