Jack D. Whitehill passed from this earth on March 21, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer and is survived at home by his wife Dorothy.

Jack is survived by children Deb DeLong,Kathy Whitehill, Monte, Jaci Huebner (Wayne), Lew, David (Cindy), Sheryl Kimport (John), Jeanne Lusk; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and siblings Jim, Ben, Stan (Connie), Raymond, Wanda Mains (Dennis), Daniel (Bonita), and Dennis (Barbara). Jack was born in Houserville on Oct. 8, 1931, to Walter R. and Grace Stover Whitehill who preceded him in death along with siblings Lew, Larry, Bob, Stephen and Linda Schreckengast.

Jack attended local schools in Linden Hall, Boalsburg, and State College. In the true Scots-Irish tradition, Jack served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was a tail gunner during the Korean Conflict. A member of Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Jack worked on numerous nuclear power plants. He taught himself to play music and was an avid fan of bluegrass music, Penn State wrestling and football and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He was an avid reader with a keen interest in alternative health remedies. Anyone who knew Jack has at least one story that demonstrated his unique spirit.

At his request, there will be no services.
