James "Earl" Fohringer, 77, of Loganton, entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2010, at his home. Earl, son of the late John B. and Rosa Bell Fisher Fohringer was born on May 16, 1932, in Potters Mills.

On June 19, 1953, Earl married Anna G. Guisewhite in Centre Hall. Mrs. Fohringer preceded Earl in death on April 19, 1992. Earl worked for the Nippenose Valley Telephone Co. and the Sugar Valley Telephone Co. with 30 years of service. He was also employed with Hanna Electric.

After he retired he started his own business, J. E. Fohringer Electric. Earl enjoyed fishing, camping and especially hunting. He has many trophies in his home from hunting trips that he went on around the world. Earl also enjoyed the tranquility of his home along the creek. Earl was a veteran, having served his country during the Korean War in The U. S. Army. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Greenburr, the NRA and the National Camper & Hikers Association.

Earl is survived by two daughters, Larna D. Lamey (Bill), of Loganton and Suzette K. Boerma (Darle), of Newaygo, Mich.; two sons, Michael B. Fohringer (Manuela), of Dover, Del. and Jeffrey A. Fohringer, of Loganton; 11 grandchildren, Billie Jo, James, Michelle, Valerie, Carina, Christan, Terra, Bradley, Chad, Katie, and Alissa; and 14 great grandchildren, J T, Samantha, Chloe, Hannah, Josh, Blayne, Cody, Sara, Jonathan, Jason, Jennifer, Andrew, Rachael, Dylan. Also surviving is one sister; Naomi Swan, of Mahaffey; and one brother, Charles Fohringer, of Tusseyville. Earl was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Keith Fohringer; two sisters Sara and Emma; and one brother, Ray Fohringer.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor Brenda Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Spring Mills.
