James L. “Jim” Watson, Sr., 79, of rural Bellefonte passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Hearthside Rehab. Center. He was born on May 13, 1938 in Boggs Twp., Centre Co., the son of the late Orvis E. and Ethel Sunday Watson. On December 29, 1957 he married the former Charlotte M. Young (Watson) who survives at home. Jim was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Bellefonte. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his four wheeler. He especially enjoyed spending time at camp. He worked at Cerro, Copper & Brass as a Tool Crib attendent.

Jim is also survived by his sons, James L. (Bonnie) Watson, Jr. of Milesburg, Mark E. (Gwendolyn) Watson of Marsh Creek and Rex A. (Glenda) Watson of McVeytown; his daughter, Debra (Walt) Wilhelm of Norristown, MD; his sisters, Elva Fetterolf of Aaronsburg, Marian Weaver of Howard and his brother Emery Watson of Howard. Also surviving Jim are his grandchildren, Steven Watson, Samantha Watson, Lyle Watson, Christopher Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Ashly Watson, Travis Watson and Corie Jo Watson; his great grandchildren, Aubrey Watson, Brody Watson, Claudia Thomas, Riley Bartley, Ryder Tenalio and Remmie Tenalio. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Watson.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 9:30 AM – 11: 00 AM at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg. Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 A.M. with Lay Speaker Paul Deering officiating.

Burial will be at Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co.
