Jean E. Haynes, 84, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at home. Born on January 26, 1926, in Snow Shoe, she was the daughter of the late Eversley T. and Agnes B. Aikey Haynes.
Jean was a 1944 graduate from Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of the Snow Shoe Presbyterian Church where she held the office of Clerk of Session for many years. She also was a Lay Speaker. She was very active in the church and enjoyed talking to people about the Lord.
Jean worked as a Business Administrator for the Bald Eagle Area School District until her retirement in 1984.
Jean is survived by two brothers, Robert Haynes and his wife, Sara, and George Haynes and his wife, Deborah, both of Snow Shoe, three sisters; Ann Martin of Concordville, PA, Nancy Bjerky of Melton, SC, and Elsie Craigo of Gallipolis, OH.
Her parents, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience. Burial will be in Askey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Snow Shoe Presbyterian Church, C/O Lisa McMaster, 187 Fountain Rd., Snow Shoe, PA 16874
