Obituary of Jean Marie Shuke, 87

Jean Marie Shuke, 87, of Marsh Creek, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. She was born on April 17, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor Frances Wistar Hewette.

On September 22, 1951 she was united in marriage to Charles Shuke, he preceded her in death on April 16, 2012. Jean was employed as a registered nurse for many years at a Physicians office. She retired from Blakley Nursing Home in North Baltimore, Ohio in 1992 as the Assistant Director of Nursing.

Jean was a member of the Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church where she worked with the Mission Team. She was also a member of the Centre County Gideons auxillary. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and reading.

She is survived by two daughters, Dianne M. Shuke of North Baltimore, Ohio, and Martha J. ( Dan ) Longmore of Howard. She was preceded by a sister, Eleanor Ply.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church, 417 Summit Hill Road, Howard, with her son-in-law, Pastor Dan Longmore officiating. Friends will be received at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, Ohio on Monday, November 27th at1:30 p.m.
