John F. Harpster, 65, of rural Julian passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was born on January 2, 1949, the son of the late John R. and Louise Ziegler Harpster.
On February 2, 1982 he married the former Linda Haines who survives at home.
He attended Center Pointe UPC in State College. John was a self-employed used car salesman and a mechanic. He enjoyed attending auctions and was a former stock car racer.
Along with his wife he is survived by one daughter, Tammy M. (Art) Brant of Julian and two sons, Terry T. (Sarah) Haines of Clarence and Rodney L. (Darnell) Butler of Coburn. Also surviving is one brother, Stephen Harpster of Boalsburg and six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, Pa. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Mick Cluster officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
