John E. Kelly, Jr. 32, of Howard, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013. Born on October 17, 1980, in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of Nancy L. and Gerald L. “Butch” Chambers, Jr. of Grassflat. On May 5, 2012, in Port Matilda, he married Jamie S. Confer who survives at home.

John is a 1999 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and a 2004 graduate from St. Francis University where he earned a BA in Prelaw. He was employed with HRI, Inc. of State College where he was a paver.

John was a member of the Clarence Moose Club #1565, Howard VFW Post#8269, Beech Creek Legion Post#623 and the Renovo Elks Club. He was an avid pool player, playing on various teams, including the Beech Creek and Centre County Leagues. He coached for the Keystone Little League baseball teams in Blanchard.
John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoors. He was very competitive, especially when it came to sports. When in high school, he set new records in track, and he still holds most of those achievements. He was a big Red Wing fan and a CRAZY Notre Dame fan. He loved spending time with his stepchildren and playing video games with them.
John is survived by his wife, parents, step children; Parrish C. Munro & Jessikah L. Munro both at home, one brother, Christopher L. Chambers of Philipsburg, and his grandfather, Gerald L. Chambers, Sr. of Snow Shoe. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elva Windle and Joseph Windle, paternal grandparents; Eleanor Kelly and Wesley Kelly, and grandmother, Wilma Chambers.

Viewing will be on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Catherine W. Dittman officiating. Burial will be at Askey Cemetery.
