John Stuart Bischoff, our loving father, grandfather, relative, and friend, passed away June 19, 2013. Born May 19, 1934 in State College, he was the son of the late Eugen C. Bischoff and Jean C. Bischoff. He was married to Minki Bischoff for 55 years.

Johnny B. was a fun loving father of four; Bruce Bischoff and his wife Amy, of Pittsburgh, PA, Elizabeth McClintic and her husband, Fred, of Spring Mills, PA, Diane Gemberling and her husband, Mark of Apex, NC, Gretchen Thompson, and her husband Jeff of Fuquay Varina, NC. He is survived by his older brother Dave Bischoff and his younger brother Stuart Bischoff. He was known as “Grampy” to his grandchildren; Ali, Kacie, Tara, Grace, Luke, Eliza, Nathan, and Ford.

John was a 1953 graduate from State College Area High School. He received degrees from Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh. He was an active member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a founding member and the president of the Mid-Atlantic-Stores. His career included; Director of Recreation, Verona, NJ, and Windsor, CT. Director of Student Union PSU, McKeesport, Director of Auxiliary Services, PSU. John served as president of the National Association of College Stores. He was a member and former trustee of the State College Presbyterian Church.

John enjoyed every opportunity to be with his children and grandchildren, golf with his friends, garden, and travel. He seized every chance to sail, fish, and welcome visitors to the family cottage in Ontario, Canada.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m., on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Presbyterian Church at 132 W. Beaver Avenue, State College. In the spirit of our father, we wish that everyone attending the service be casual and comfortable.
