Obituary of John S. Kolos , 61

John S. Kolos, 61, of Bellefonte, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born July 1, 1948, in Frackville, he was a son of the late John M. Kolos and Rose Wilinsky Kolos, who survives. On Nov. 25, 1972, in Weatherly, he married Nancy Lee Allison, who survives at home.

John was a graduate of Frackville Area School District and was a bus driver for State College Area School District and had previously worked for Sire Power Inc., as an artificial inseminator. John was a member of the BPOE #1094, in Bellefonte and the Pleasant Gap American Legion Post # 867, VFW Post #1600. John served in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and Germany. He was an avid fisherman.

Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters who loved him very much; Kathleen Kolos and Ellen Kolos, of Bellefonte.

Friends will be received Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Snydertown, from 1-2 p.m. A celebration of his life will immediately follow at the church at 2 p.m. with Vicar Ruth Kocha Jensen officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Re-Creation USA Inc., P.O. Box 220, Port Treverton PA 17864. Re-Creation is a non-profit group providing live entertainment to veteran's hospitals and facilities. Arrangements by Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., Bellefonte.
