Obituary of Joyce E. Moran, 80

Joyce E. Moran, 80, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on January 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine (Blair) Tressler. She was married to James Moran, who preceded her in death.

She was a 1955 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and later attended Altoona School of Commerce. Joyce worked as a cook at Penn State until her retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Shaffer (James), of Howard and one son, Thomas Moran (Kelly), of Spring Mills.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph “Sonny” Tressler.

Joyce was a of the Methodist faith. She was a generous person and loved her family above all.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 10-11am at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. at 206 N. Spring Street in Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home at 11am with Rev. Leroy Reitz officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
