Julia Brooks (Wagner) Miller passed away on September 27, 2012, surrounded by her loving husband and family, after a valiant fight with cancer.

Julia was born on February 7, 1981, in State College, PA. As a child she enjoyed collecting stuffed animals, reading, riding horses, swimming, participating in dance classes, and playing flute. Throughout junior high and high school, Julie participated in band and marching band playing flute and piccolo, making many friendships that lasted through her too-brief adulthood. Julie also participated in Pony Club and Odyssey of the Mind while attending State College Area High School, graduating in 1999. Julie attended classes at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, working toward an English Literature degree.

On August 15, 2003, Julia married Daniel Miller of Lebanon, PA. The couple moved to Richmond, VA, in 2005, where Julie worked in retail for several years. Julie’s chief passions were reading, music, experimenting with cooking, rescuing cats, and cuddling with her two mini-dachshunds, Harry Pawter and Dobby. She also loved to work on needlework, crafts, sewing, and decorating. Julie loved to entertain and especially loved to decorate for her favorite holiday, Halloween. Purple was her favorite color and played a dominant theme in her decorating efforts and wardrobe.

Julia is survived by her husband Dan; her brother Jacob Wagner of Richmond, VA; her parents, Ted and Pat Wagner of Port Matilda, PA; her grandmother and step-grandfather Jean and John Mathys of Bradford, PA; and aunts and uncles including Larry (Colleen) Mayo of Frederick, MD; Marcia (Jim) Fowler of Lewis Run, PA; Larry (Barb) Wagner of Redwood City, CA; and Dave (Grace) Wagner of Tempe, AZ. She is also survived by nine cousins, their spouses, and their children, and by many in-laws and their families in the Lebanon, PA, area.
