Obituary of Karen E. Seagren, 70

Karen E. Seagren, 70, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at her home.

Born on May 14,1940 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor. M. and Francis A.E. Koski. Karen was valedictorian of the Bald Eagle Area High School's class of 1958. She lived in many places in the Bellefonte area, including Snow Shoe, during her youth. As an adult she lived in Atlanta, N.J., Conn., and for 20 years in Falconer, N.Y., where she raised her family.

Karen was a woman much involved in the Bellefonte community. She is the former owner of the Barnard House bed and breakfast. She was a member of the Bellefonte Garden Club where she championed projects such as Project Daffodil and the Children's Garden. She also was an active volunteer at the Bellefonte museum and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Bellefonte was the love of Karen's life and provided her with much joy.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Kristen (Chuck) Koski, of Bellefonte, Kathryn (Tom) O'Toole, of Atlanta, Melinda (Victor) Holderman, of Julian, Sandra (Fran) McGee, of Bellefonte, and Susan (Lenny) Marucci, of Bellefonte. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Danielle O'Toole, Gregory Overturf, Shea O'Toole, Autumn McGee, Braden McGee, Brock Marucci, Madison Marucci, Lucas Holderman, Grace Holderman, Drake Holderman and Haylee Marucci. She is also survived by her brother, Rick (Kathy) Koski and their children.

Friends will be received on Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 10-11 a.m., the time of the service at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Evelyn Wald officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
