Kathy S. “Kat” Yearick, 53, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL; following complications from a liver transplant.

She was born January 27, 1961 in Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Caroline S. Tice Yearick and Walter E. Yearick who survives in Centre Hall

She was married to Fred L. King who survives in Lehigh acres, FL.

Kathy was a graduate of Central Pennsylvania Institute, Pleasant Gap, earning a LPN license. She worked at Foxdale Village, State College and Physicians Primary Care in Fort Myers as a LPN.

Kat loved spending time with family, traveling, shopping and cruising.

Surviving Kathy in addition to her father and husband, are three sons, Travis and Justin Alters both Rebersburg and Brandon Alters and his partner Joshua Joyce of Lehigh Acres, FL; two step children, Alisha Hendry of Cape Corl, FL and Eric King of Oklahoma City, OK; four sisters, Cheryl Shrontz (Arley) of Norfolk, VA, Rosalie Owens (Daniel) of Centre Hall, Mary Fye (Donald) of Moshannon, and Dawn Reinecke (Allen) of Howe, TX; three brothers, Wayne Yearick of Madisonburg, Gregory Yearick (LuAnn) of Centre Hall and Gordon Yearick (Stacey) of Centre Hall; five grandchildren, Mason, Jacob, Dylan and Noah Alters and Brandon Girgenti.

Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Monday, March 10, 2014, and from 7:30-8:30 PM, Tuesday, March 11th at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service P. C., 226 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall. The funeral service will follow at 8:30 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Judith Hulslander officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
