Obituary of Kenneth E. Haupt Sr., 80

Kenneth E. Haupt Sr., 80, of Spring Mills, departed from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

Ken, a son of the late Charles M. and Dorothy Beckwith Haupt, was born on July 12, 1930 in Bellefonte. He was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. On Nov. 19, 1952, he married Erma Crust at the Fillmore Methodist Church. Mrs. Haupt survives at their home in Spring Mills. Ken was employed as a photographer at Raytheon, formerly HRB Singer in State College, retiring in 1993 with 35 years of service. Ken served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Keystone Post #444 in Millheim. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by a daughter, Jacquie L. Daulby (John), of Spring Mills; and two sons, Kenneth E. Haupt Jr. (Kitty), of Spring Mills, and Thomas E. Haupt (Trudi), of Millheim. Also surviving is one brother; Robert N. Haupt (Rosie), of Bellefonte; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by one brother, James R. Haupt.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday Dec. 3, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11 a.m. with Rev. Benjamin Haupt officiating. Ken will be laid to rest in Meyers Cemetery on Buffalo Run Road, Bellefonte Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ken may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
