Kirk Springer Ebbs, 52, of State College, lost his battle to cancer on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at home.

Kirk's “Marine Corps” strength radiated to the final seconds before death. Supporting and caring for his family was always in the forefront of every thought and action. Kirk's perseverance and determination has touched the lives of many. Kirk was extremely proud of his 4 children, Reilly Marie, Adalie Marie, Lilly Marie and Nathaniel James Ebbs.

Born March 29, 1965, on Army Base Camp Zama, Japan, he was the son of James George Ebbs of Jupiter, Florida and Norma Springer Tofaute of Palm City, FL. On August 4, 1990, he married Dawn Marie Harrington, the love of his life.

In addition to his parents, wife and children, he is survived by his step mother, Arlene Carrier Ebbs and his sister, Kelly Callahan and her husband, Thomas and their two children, Braeden and Delaney of Jupiter, Florida.

He was a 1983 graduate of Corning East High School, Corning, NY. He received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1987 in Business Administration. Kirk served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. from 1990 until 1996. In 2005, he received an MBA from Arizona State University.

Kirk was employed as a Regional Plant Manager for Novolex in Milesburg and Richmond, VA.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from held 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m., on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Blvd, State College, with the Reverend Matthew Laffey officiating.

Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
