Kirk Wayde “Weasle” Wensel, 49, of Howard, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Woolrich.

Born April 4, 1965 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Beatrice Mae Walker Wensel.

He was raised in Monument.

Kirk was a 1983 graduate of Lock Haven High School and made his employment as a roof technician with Low Slope Solutions.

He was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club, and he enjoyed the company of his fellow riders and the joy of motorcycle riding.

He liked to hunt and enjoyed his time with his family, particularly his granddaughters.

He is survived by his companion Diane Hull and her son Gary Cummings Jr. of Howard, a daughter, Kayla S. (Bob) Spicer of Centre Hall; a son, Joshua M. Wensel of Bellefonte; five sisters, Jane (Blair) Confer and Anna May (Paul) Young of Beech Creek; Deborah (Robert) Miller and Lisa (John) Lynn of Florida; Phyllis (Timothy) Bruss of Julian; a sister-in-law, Marlene Losch of Howard; seven brothers, James Wensel of Blanchard, Leonard and Walter Wensel of Lock Haven, and Steven (Cindy) and Dennis (Cathy) Wensel of Beech Creek, Paul of Lebanon and Carl “Cutter” (Barbara) of Mill Hall, ; three grandchildren, Gabriella, Gloria and Susan; 28 nieces, and 29 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by bothers Cpl. Milford Wensel (killed in action in Vietnam, June 5, 1969) and Gary Wensel (Feb. 19, 2007).

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the Faith Baptist Church, 143 Liberty St., Blanchard, with Pastor Troy Kerstetter officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
