Larry A. Heaton, 71, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on September 4, 1945, in Walker Twp., he was the son of the late Milford and Sarah Vonada Heaton. On April 18, 1964, in Hublersburg, he married Nancy L. Duck, who survives at home.

Larry was a 1963 graduate of Bellefonte High School. He was of the protestant faith. He worked at the Hammermill Paper in Lock Haven for 23 years. He then went to work at Penn State as a plumber/pipefitter and retired in 2005 after 18 years of service.

Larry loved to grow vegetables in his garden. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and yard, antique tractors, and Penn State Football. He treasured his time spent camping and traveling with his wife.

Larry is survived by his wife, two sons; Gregg A. Heaton and his wife, Theresa, of Howard, and Steven E. Heaton of Bellefonte, his daughter, Laurie A Yearick and her husband, Kim, of Bellefonte, and three grandchildren; Amber Lahr, Michael Hearn, and Dustin Heaton.

Also, surviving Larry are his four sisters; Nora Taylor of New Jersey, Evelyn McMillon of York, Mary Stout of Florida, and Sandra Tremain and her husband, Gilbert, of New York.

Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by on brother, Harold Heaton, and one sister, Faye Eminhizer.

Public visitation will be on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard. Funeral service will be on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Koch officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Walker Twp.
