Larry W. Weber, 71, of South Williamsport, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born January 29, 1939 in Smullton, a son of Evelyn Wolfe Weber of Eagle Valley Personal Care Home at Milesburg, and the late Clarence L. Weber.

On July 19, 1958 he married Janice A. Martz, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, who survives at home.

Larry graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1957 and attended Williamsport Technical School. He served in the U. S. Navy from Feb. 24, 1959 to January 21, 1963, earning the rank of EBF2. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk and was a plank owner of the Kitty Hawk.

After thirty two years of service, Mr. Weber retired from Lucent Technologies.

Mr. Weber was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in South Williamsport, the Williamsport Pioneers, a long time member of Sheshequin Sportsmen Club, American Legion Post #1, and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He enjoyed his Hot Rod cars, attending car shows and reconditioning older model cars, but what he cherished most was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and mother, Larry is survived by two daughters, Lisa A. Strouse and her husband Kenneth of Spring Mills and Jennifer L. Lemmon and her husband David of State College; one son Lanny E. Weber and his wife Yuliya of Rio Rancho, N M; seven grandchildren, Melissa Boisvert of Fountain, CO, Christy Brown of Fayetteville NC, Anna Weber of Rio Rancho, NM, and Mary, David, Abigail and Benjamin Lemmon all of State College; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia A. Snare of Centre Hall, and Betty L. Bierly and her husband Harold of Centre Hall; three brothers, Robert E. Weber and his wife Vicky of Rebersburg, David L. Weber and his wife Patty of Atkins, SC and Fredric L. Weber and his wife Ruth of Port Matilda.

Friends will be received from 10:00 until noon, Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. A memorial service will follow at noon, with the Dr. Joseph Schafer of the University Bible Fellowship Church in State College officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
