Obituary of Laura Johnson, 89

Laura L. Johnson, 89, of Rural Bellefonte, died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Centre Crest, Bellefonte. She was born on August 18, 1924 in Boggs Twp., Centre Co., Pa.

Laura was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and life long love of family and friends. Laura was a member of Runville United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Sarah Bierly Confer. On June 11, 1943, she married David F. Johnson who preceded her in death, November 2, 1999.

Laura is survived by daughter Connie M. (John) Carr of Bethlehem, Pa.; son Claude L. (Brenda) Johnson of rural Bellefonte; sisters Helen Witherite of Rural Bellefonte, Barbara Reese of Rural Bellefonte and Katherine Brown of Rural Julian; grandchildren Sara E. (Brian) Miller of Springfield, VA. and David G. Johnson of Howard; great-granddaughter Claire Miller of Springfield, VA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Fisher.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Runville United Methodist Church,1216 Runville Road, Bellefonte, Pa. with Rev. Herbert Emel officiating. Family and Friends will be received Monday, July 21, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, and one hour prior to services at the Church. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Twp., Centre Co., Pa.
