Leonard J. Rigg, Sr.,79, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on March 24, 1937, in Chicago IL., he was the son of the late John and Rosemary Tumulty Rigg. On April 21, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Snow Shoe, he married Barbara L. Carlson, who survives at home.

Leonard was a 1955 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. He was a member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish in Snow Shoe. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force. Leonard was the founder of Rigg Rebuilders. He was a mechanic by trade but his true talent was in auto body. Even after retirement, he would go to the garage to help his sons with various projects.

Leonard and Barbara enjoyed traveling. They put over 100,000 miles on their motorhome. His main hobby after retiring was restoring cars. He loved to tinker with automobiles. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, BPOE #540 Clearfield Elks Lodge, and Clarence American Legion Post 813.

Leonard is survived by his wife, and six children; Michael G. Rigg and his wife, Judy, of Bradenton, FL, Wanda S. Park-Wilberding and her husband, Robert, of Snow Shoe, John A. Rigg and his wife, Lori, of Pine Glen, William L Rigg and his wife, Nicole, of Bellefonte, Robert D. Rigg and his wife, Barbara E., of Bellefonte, and Leonard J. Rigg, Jr. and his wife, Tracy, of Clarence. Also surviving are his 13 grandchildren and one brother, William Rigg and his wife, Shirley, of Sacramento, CA.

Along with his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Rigg and a sister, Patricia Go.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 11am, at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe with Father Michael Wolfe officiating. Military honors will follow.
