Obituary of LeRoy Edgar Dreibelbis, Sr. , 89

LeRoy Edgar Dreibelbis Sr., 89, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in State College.

Born July 29, 1922, in State College, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Elizabeth C. Shuey Dreibelbis. On February 12, 1949 he married Geraldine Vonada, who survives.

He is survived by four children, Darlene Torsell and her husband, Bernie, LeRoy E. Dreibelbis and his wife, Linda, JoAnn Cunningham and her husband, Val, and Ray E. Dreibelbis Sr., all of Pennsylvania Furnace. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

LeRoy was a 1940 graduate of State College High School.

He was a member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, and he was a church consistory and elder. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend Charles Fitzgerald officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
