Obituary of Lois Lenker, 88

Lois Boob Lenker, 88, of Bellefonte, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center. Born on January 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Lulu (Johnson) Stover. She was married February 6, 1948 to Darel Boob, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2004. She then married Lester Lenker in 2005, who also preceded her in death on February 14, 2015.

She was a 1947 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She worked for 27 years at Penn State as an accounting clerk until her retirement on December 31, 1990.

She is survived by one sister, Ethel Decker of Bellefonte, three children, Carol Hill (Hap) of Flemington, Larry Boone (Linda) of Bellefonte, and David Boone (Gail) of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren: Teri (Dick) Kelley, Bradley (Holly) Hill, Brian Hill, Madelyn Boone, Matthew Boone, Michelle Boone, Brian Boone, Kevin Boone, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Helen Shuey, Gerald Stover, Fred Stover, Woodrow Stover, Linn Stover, and Bernard Stover Jr.

She attended Coleville Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking homemade bread while visiting her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing the piano, doing yard work, being outside, and helping her son every Thursday delivering Gazettes.

There will be a public viewing on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 1-2pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral service will be held at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Kilgus officiating. Burial will follow at Meyer Cemetery in Benner Twp.
