Lois was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hublersburg, where she played the organ for 20 years, was a member of the Centre Chapter #207 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron.

She was a 4-H leader for over 25 years in Walker Townshop, taught many students piano lessons after school for over 20 years, and was a life member of the Nittany Country Club.
