Lois Blanche (Dawson) Mong Lee, 89, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at her residence.

Born on April 5, 1924 in Axemann, she is a daughter of the late Harry W. and Helen (Corl) Dawson.

On July 3, 1941, she was married to Luther N. Mong who preceded her in death on March 12, 1983. On April 9, 1988, she was married to Melvin Lee, who preceded her in death on January 11, 2000.

She attended Axemann Schools.

Lois was employed for over 36 ½ years at Centre Community Hospital.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hublersburg.

Lois enjoyed camping at the Grange Fair, camping with the Crossroad Campers and the Good Sam Campers, and loved going to Penn State Football games and local sporting events, especially basketball games. She was also accomplished at crocheting and needlepoint.

She is survived by two sisters, Delores Walker (Dick) and Susan McGovern, both of Bellefonte; one brother, Gerald Dawson (Gloria) of Bellefonte; her friend and companion, Gerald Weaver of Bellefonte; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Norman; and six sisters, Mary, Virginia, Madeline Grubb, Jean Brooks, Pauline Mong, and Betty Weaver.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Services at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2013 with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lois’ memory to the Home Nursing Agency, 450 Windmere Drive, State College, PA 16801 or to the charity of your choice.
