Luella Musick Machamer, formerly of Rebersburg, passed from this life on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg. She was 88. Born July 02, 1929 in Woodward, Luella was a daughter of the late Jacob F. Musick and Tammy (Vonada) Musick. Luella was a graduate of East Penns Valley High School. On June 30, 1948, she married the love of her life, Gale H. Machamer, who preceded her in death on May 13, 2016.

Luella is survived by a special niece, Trina Miller and her husband Gene, whom Gale and Luella consider their adopted son. Also surviving are two sisters, Marian Crater of Burnham and Nancy Koegler (Gus) of Fort Mills, SC; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Helen (from Alaska) Westervelt who lives in Anchorage, AK. In 1994 Gale and Luella met Helen in North Dakota, on their fourth trip to Alaska while Helen was bicycling to Alaska. Later that summer in Alaska their paths crossed again and a lasting friendship was born.

Luella was employed as a waitress at the former Eutaw House restaurant in Potters Mills and then as a secretary at the former HRB Singer in State College. Luella and Gale drove their motorhome to Alaska 14 times, a journey they loved to make. While traveling, Luella kept journals of all they had seen and done. Gale enjoyed fishing and Luella helped can their fish and clams to bring back home. She loved doing word search puzzles and singing.

Family and friends will be received from 7-8 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. The memorial service will follow with Pastor Scott Brown officiating. Luella was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim during a private burial.
