Luzviminda C. "Lucy" Lucas, 71, of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
Born on Aug. 11, 1939 in Luzon, she was a daughter of the late Simone Delacruz and Elhonia Prahaso. In 1961, in Subic Bay, she married Philip C. Lucas, who survives at home. She graduated from high school in the Philippines. Lucy was a retired as a nurses aid from Centre Crest. She was of the Protestant faith. Lucy was a member of the V.F.W. Post Number 1600 and the Logan Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Kilpatrick and her husband, Greg, of Henderson, Tenn.; a son, Philip Lucas Jr., and his wife, Janelle, of Lewistown; four sisters; three brothers; and six grandchildren, Ashley and Athena Kilpatrick, Andrea, Adam and Andrew Moist, and Meredith Lucas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.
A public visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, and from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Trawinski officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in College Township.
