Margie A. Chambers, 94, of Clarence, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Health South Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Pleasant Gap. Born on April 11, 1921, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late Mary Tobias.

Margie attended the Snow Shoe High School. She was known as “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII when she worked at the Goodyear plant in Ohio. After the war, she went to work at the Stanley Flagg Co., retiring in 1981.

Margie was a life member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence. She was an avid bowler and has earned many trophies. She would never miss a Philadelphia Philly’s game on TV. She loved going to yard sales and finding bargains. She enjoyed baking and was well known for her pies and rice pudding. She loved her family and felt it a pleasure to always have goodies to offer when they came to visit. Margie treasured the time she spend with her family, especially her cousin, “Dicka”.

Margie is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her mother, Margie was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Chambers, Jr, and two sisters, Margaret Drapcho and Geraldine “Tootsie” Kooney.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11am at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence with Father Mark Reid officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church, 102 Church St. Clarence, PA 16829.
