Marjorie E. Horner passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.

Born Dec. 7, 1926 in Tyrone, she was the daughter of the late Frances and Carrie Harpster DeLong. On Jan. 4, 1950, she married Theodore R. Horner, who passed away on April 26, 1960. Marjorie was a 1946 graduate of Tyrone High School. Through her life she worked at the Corner Room in State College, the Ferguson Township Elementary School and the Ferguson Township Municipal Building. She belonged to the Senior Citizen Club, Nittany Friends, and the United Commercial Travelers of America. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and for many, many years was the church organist. She loved to quilt, embroider, read, and take care of her dogs. She was a dog lover with a big heart — she loved all dogs, not just her own.

She is survived by a son, David R. Horner (Cathy) of Boalsburg; a daughter, Kaye A. Hull (Brian) of Bellefonte; two granddaughters, one step-grandson and one great grandson. Also surviving are two sisters; Carolyn Patton of Tyrone and Pat Getz of Hastings and one brother, William DeLong of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frances DeLong and a grandson, David Mason Hull.

Visitation will be held from 11 am. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Her funeral service will be held on at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at the Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, 150 West Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills, with the Rev. Carl D. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Mills Cemetery.
