Obituary of Marlin Lee Wright , 50

Surrounded by his loving family, Marlin Lee Wright, 50, of Richfield, N.C., formerly of Millheim, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

Marlin, son of the late Marlin G. Wright and Marian Crozier Wright, was born on March 4, 1960 in Lewistown. Marlin was a 1978 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. He was of the Protestant faith. Marlin was employed by the U. S. Postal Service in Charlotte, N.C. Marlin actively served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1983 to 1991.

On Oct. 8, 2004, he married Briendelle Weil. Mrs. Wright survives at their home in Richfield, N.C. In addition to his wife, Marlin is survived by three children, Janell Wright, of Indianapolis, Ind., Ben Wright, of Richfield, N.C., and stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Weil, also of Richfield, N.C.; one brother, William Wright (Linda Vonada), of Holly Spring, N.C.; and his mother, Marian Wright of Millheim. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin G. Wright on March 27, 1988.

Marlin enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. He was an avid Penn State football fan and also enjoyed a variety of various college and professional sports.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on July 2, 2010, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. A memorial service celebrating Marlin's life will follow immediately at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Russell Sauerwein officiating.
