Obituary of Martha E. (Gardner) Weaver, 86

Martha E. “Nana” Weaver, 86, of Howard passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior and walk the golden streets on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 1, 1930 to the late Merril B. and Laura Mae Saltsman Gardner. On October 20, 1949 she married the love of her life Leonard Lloyd Weaver, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1998.

Her greatest joy was being a mom and Nana. She enjoyed cooking, baking, cleaning but most of all going to church.

She is survived by three daughters; Cheryl L. (Ed) Watkins of Howard, Linda L. McMurtrie of Bellefonte, and Marlene E (Wade) Summers of Howard, four grandchildren; Angela (Butler), Steve Bills and their children; Stephen & Brendan Bills of Mahaffey, Ryan L. McMurtrie of Bellefonte, Bryanna E. Summers (Nick) Myers and baby girl Myers due in August of Millheim, Brant A. Summers of Howard. A Son-in-Law Mont Butler of Blanchard, three brothers: Joseph (Caroline) of Pleasant Gap, Paul “Jack” (Beverly) Gardner of Howard, Rev. Dennis Gardner of New Mexico. A brother-in-law; Lawrence Lyons of Bellefonte. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Brenda A. Butler, two sons; Leonard L. Weaver Jr., and Garren L. Weaver. A son-in-law; Kevin L. McMurtrie, sisters; Mary Bullock, Betty Weaver, Shirley Lyons, JoAnn Phoenix, Jane and Relda Gardner, two brothers; Orrin (Tom) Gardner and Doyle Gardner.

She was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church of Howard.

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Howard with her brother Rev. Dennis Gardner officiating. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery in Howard. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
