Obituary of Martha Watson, 85

Martha Jane (Gordon) Watson, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at Centre Crest. A daughter of the late Howard Stevens Gordon and Ruth Alberta (Summers) Gordon, she was born September 4, 1927 in Spring Township, near Bellefonte, Pa. She married Howard Martin Watson Jr. of Bellefonte in Winchester, Virginia on May 6, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2008.

Martha was a graduate of the Bellefonte Area High School, Class of 1945. She devoted most of her adult life in support of her family and had many friends who knew her as "Jane" or "Cookie". In later years she worked at the Bellefonte Elementary School and at Dershem's Sporting Goods in Bellefonte.

Martha is survived by a sister, Suzanne Jean Sharer, of Bellefonte, and two sons: Jeffrey S. Watson and his wife Patricia, of Bellefonte, and Michael P. Watson and his wife Susan, of Bellefonte. There are four grandchildren: Sarah E. Watson, Kathryn A. Watson, and James M. Watson, all of Bellefonte, and Casey L. McKeehan of Elizabethton, Tennessee.

Martha is survived by two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Sophia McKeehan of Elizabethton, Tennessee.

All arrangements will be provided by the Wetzler Funeral Service, 206 North Spring Street, Bellefonte, Pa. 16823. There will be no public visitation or funeral at Martha's request. A private graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of the family at Union Cemetery, Bellefonte, Pa.
