Martin M. Friedman, 91, of State College, died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Fairways at Brookline in State College. He was born on June 10, 1918, in Altoona, a son of the late Jacob and Edna (Klevansky) Friedman. On July 12, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., he was married to the former J. Mavys Sacks, who survives at home.

He was a 1935 graduate of Snow Shoe High School and a 1941 graduate of Penn State University. Martin faithfully served our country in the Army Air Force during World War II. Beginning in 1952, he and his wife owned and operated the Tot'n' Teen Childrens Clothing Store in State College. He retired from the store in 1975. Martin enjoyed golfing and was an avid player.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Pamela Friedman, of New York City, N.Y., Laurie Friedman, of Boulder, Colo., and Deborah Friedman, of Bethesda, Md.; one brother, David Friedman, of State College; two half sisters, Rachel Ballon and Linda Mann, both of California; and four grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, with Rabbi David E. Ostrich officiating. The Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, has care of the arrangements.
