Obituary of Mary Ann Kucas, 86

Mary Ann Kucas, 86, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on August 9, 1931, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Shuey) Knapik. In 1979, she married her beloved husband, Joseph Kucas, who preceded her in death after 32 years of marriage.

Mary Ann was a 1949 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She worked in the engineering department of Cerro Copper and Brass for over 30 years until retiring in 1986.

Mary Ann is survived by one step daughter, Tamela Thal (Greg), and three step sons, Philip Kucas, Thomas Kucas (Anne), and Patrick Kucas (Kimberly); six step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Carolyn Spigelmyer (Stoy) and her niece Teresa Spigelmyer, and one brother, J. Gregory Knapik (Patricia).

A public visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 9-10am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 134 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte. Mass of Christian burial will be held at the church at 10am with Father George Jakopac officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
