Mary C. Haines, 88, of E. Freedom Ave., Burnham, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born on June 29, 1923 in McClure, Snyder Co., she was the daughter of the late Lester and Florence (Snook) Hughes.
On October 14, 1940, she was married to Wilson D. Haines, who preceded her in death on September 23, 1988.
Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking, gardening, and assembling puzzles with her daughters, but most all, she loved and cherished the time spent with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Audrey H. Stambaugh of 500 Lower Creek Road, Milroy, PA 17063, Ruth C. Allenbaugh (Tom) of Burnham, and Joyce A. Dobson (Martin Sr.) of Lewistown; one son, David W. Haines (Sherry) of McAlisterville; one brother, Ken Hughes (Sherri) of Kuma, ID; one sister, Margaret Phillips of Lewistown; eleven grandchildren, Robyn Stambaugh, Thad Stambaugh (Caryn), Kelly Nearhoof (Bart), Michael Allenbaugh (Heather), Scott Knepper (Colleen), Dana Sherman (Eric), Beth Reck (Larry), Martin Dobson Jr., Alynda Lewis (Edward), Jill Pellman (Bob), and Dave Haines; twenty six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Gregory W. Allenbaugh in August 1982; one sister, Carrie Collins; and two brothers, Raymond and Glen.
All Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
