Mary K. Howell, 87, of Runville, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Centre Crest Nursing Center in Bellefonte.

Born on January 29, 1922 in Boggs Township, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm C. and Alta M. (Watson) Reese.

On September 3, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD, she was married to William D. Howell, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 22, 1996.

She was a graduate of Bellefonte High School, Class of 1938.

Mary worked many years as a Secretary, retiring in 1984 from Tele-Media Corp. in Bellefonte.

She was a member of the Milesburg Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Women's Association of the Church, a member of the Ladies Aid Society of Runville, and the Milesburg Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy K. Barnes and her husband Ralph of State College and Mary Ann Breon and her husband Kermit of Hughesville; two sons, Stacy M. Howell and his wife Betsey of Runville and Kenneth A. Howell and his wife Jacquelyn of Hollidaysburg; two sisters, Minnie Shope and Verna Walker; two brothers, Marlin Reese and his wife Barbara and George Reese and his wife Eva Mae; 14 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara J. Robinson; one son, William D. Howell, Jr., two brothers, Nevin Watson and Walter Reese; and two sisters, Jane Reese Mayes and Amy Reese Weston.

Family will receive friends 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Services, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.

Funeral Services will be conducted from the funeral home at 11:30 AM on Saturday with the Reverend Barbara E. Mosch officiating. Interment will take place at Centre County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Asera Care Hospice, 1015 Logan Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
