Max E. Corman, 79, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born on February 10, 1938 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Clifford H. and Anna M. Weber Corman. On June 15, 1963 in Centre Hall, he married R. Marie Long, who survives at home.

Max is a 1956 graduate of Walker Twp. High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 27, 1956 and was given an honorable discharge on June 1, 1958. Max was employed as a Corrections Officer at SCI at Rockview. He retired 1996 after 29 years of service.

Max enjoyed hunting, playing golf, and Nascar. He looked forward to the yearly trips over the winter months to Florida with his wife. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and watching them excel in everything they did. He was a 50-year member of the F & AM Old Fort Lodge where he was a Past Master, and a member of the Bellefonte Elks Lodge, and the Pleasant Gap Fire Company.

Max is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie, brother; Jerry L. Corman and his wife, Delores, of Bellefonte, two sisters; Sandra J. Ferree and her husband, David of Centre Hall and Darlene K. Klinefelter and her husband, Leo, of Howard, and a daughter in-law, Jamie S. (Shaw) Corman of Bellefonte.

Also, surviving Max are his three grandchildren, Chamberlyn, Alexa, and Ethan. They were the true apple in his eye.

Along with his parents, Max was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney A. Corman and Ryan D. Corman, and one brother, Larry J. Corman.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10-11am at the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap. Memorial service will at 11am at the church with Rev. Kevin Shock officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery in Walker Twp.
