May A. Lucas, 81 a resident of Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte, formerly of Howard, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
She was born in Howard on July 30, 1931, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Bessie Miller. Her husband, Marvin Lucas, preceded her in death.
May was a seamstress for Woolrich Inc. for many year, and had worked at Sylvania in her earlier years. A member of the Eastern Star, she had attended the Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church. She enjoyed quilting, and in her younger years, she volunteered at the Howard Fire Co. and was a Club Scout Leader.
Surviving are a daughter; Ruby (Bill) Kitner of Marsh Creek, a son; Robert Miller of Dubois, three grandchildren; Michele Anthony, Chad Kitner, and Alethea Kitner and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Howard on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 with the Rev. Kenneth Stephens officiating. Friends and family will be received from 6:30 – 7:00 prior to the service.
