Obituary of Michael L. Kotzur , 59

Michael L. Kotzur, 59, of Howard, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Lock Haven on May 16, 1950, a son of the late Mike Kotzur and Lois Lyons Kotzur, of Howard. On July 25, 1969, he married Sharon Counsil, who survives at home.

Mike was a 1968 graduate of Bald Eagle Area School District. He was a mechanic for Allegheny Power for 24 years. He was a social member of the Milesburg Legion. He was a past president of UWUA, Local Union 102L. Mike loved spending time at his camp, where he thoroughly enjoyed cooking for his family and many friends. There weren't too many weekends that you couldn't find him at camp. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and he was always willing and doing for others. He was known by many for his knack for repairing just about anything.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kerri S. Comly (Brad), of Howard; a son, Thomas M. (Jennifer), of Howard; four sisters, Nicki Williams, Diane Gilroy, Leslie Kotzur, and Lydia Kotzur-Watters; three brothers, Scott, Andy and Eric; two grandchildren, Tessa and Brayden Comly; and his faithful dog, Lucy.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Burial will be in Schenck's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at the funeral home.
