Nancy S. McGhee, 72, 0f Pennsylvania Furnace died December 23, 2015 at her residence.

Born August 28, 1943 in Bellefonte she was the daughter of the late Domer Orvis. Sr. and Irene (Gentzel) Smeltzer.

On June 22, 1991 in State College she married John R. ”Buzz” McGhee, Jr., who survives at home.

Nancy was a graduate of Penns Valley Area High School in 1961. She retired from Bell of PA Yellow Pages and was a self- employed transcriptionist, she mainly did transcribing for Penn State University. Previously, she was an EMT and served on the Penn State First Aid and Cardiac Squad for sporting events and graduations. Nancy had also been a volunteer at Centre Community Hospital in the Emergency Room.

She was an attendee of State College Alliance Church, who enjoyed needlework, collecting antiques and collectibles, camping with travel trailer and spending time at the McGhee’s Mountain Cottage.

Was very involved in the annual Nativity Show and Exhibit in State College, and has a very large collection of nativities from all over the world and many antique ones. Was also a collector of teddy bears.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by two sons, Todd Eric (Donna) Markle of Spring Mills and Troy Aaron Markle of State College; three step children, Paula (Rick) Parker of State College, John R. McGhee, III of Bethel Park and Daniel McGhee of Pittsburgh; one brother, Domer O. Jr. (Kristin) Smeltzer of Spring Mills; one grandson, Richard Todd Markle; one niece, Olivia Smeltzer; six step grandchildren and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at State College Alliance Church, 1221 W. Whitehall Road, State College. Burial at Pine Hall Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
