Norma D. Eckenroth, 83, of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015, at her home. Born on February 6, 1932, in College Township, she was the daughter of the late Hugh C. and Mary E. (Hoy) Dale. On April 29, 1950, she married Harry W. Eckenroth who preceded her in death.

She was a 1949 graduate of the State College Area High School.
Norma worked for the Elder Agency in State College and then as a secretary for The Pennslvania State University in the College of Human Development until her retirement in 1990.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellefonte.
Norma was also a member of the Red Hats, the Speeder’s Choir, and the Thursday Morning Coffee Club. She volunteered at the Willowbank Building and the Bellefonte Chamber of Commerce Train Station. She was a Tipstaff at the Bellefonte Court House. She taught Sunday School at the Zion Lutheran Church in her early years. She was an avid reader and loved the beach. She was always mom or grandma to every child that walked through her door.

Norma is survived by two sons; Richard A. Eckenroth of Ridgway, Scott W. Eckenroth, of St. Marys, one daughter, Lisa E. Grove of Bellefonte, and also by twentyone grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Bulmer.
There will be a memorial service held Saturday, December 19, 2015, at10:00am, St. John Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister Street, Bellefonte, PA, with the Rev. William Osman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Peace Garden.
