Norma L. Rauch, 78, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully after her
year long battle with cancer on Friday, July 30, 2010 at home. Born on
October 10, 1931, in Karthaus, she was the daughter of the late Samuel
and Ellen Maney Rees. On June 15, 1950, in Winchester VA, she married
Robert G. Rauch who died on July 19, 2002. Norma and Robert were
married for 52years.
Norma is a 1949 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. In 1971, she
went to work for her brother as bookkeeper at the Snow Shoe Exxon
Truck Stop, Inc. She worked there for over 39 years, until her illness
limited her activities.
Norma was a life member of the Snow Shoe United Methodist Church
and a member of the Snow Shoe Women’s Club. She was very enthusiastic
about fishing. She enjoyed camping, working in her yard, tending to
her flowers, and visiting the casinos. She loved spending time with
her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Norma is survived by; her son, Daniel R. Rauch and his wife, Jami
of Snow Shoe, her daughter, Deborah L. Haynes and her husband George
of Snow Shoe; her three grandchildren; Michael G. Haynes and his wife,
Cortney of Coalport, Ashley V. Rauch and Corey D. Rauch both of Snow
Shoe, and by her two great grandchildren, Gavin Witherow and Colbey
Burd. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, and spouse, Norma was preceded in death
by her brother, Max Rees and her sister, Velda Etters.
A special thank you to Norma’s niece, Marcia Horton, for all the
love and support she has given to the family during this time.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 2, 2010
from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St,
Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11am
at the Snow Shoe United Methodist Church with Pastor Cathy Dittman
officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Keewaydin Cemetery,
Karthaus.
