Obituary of Nunzio J. Fiore, 90

Nunzio J. Fiore, 90, of Altoona passed away on Tuesday, January 30th. at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Born in Altoona, PA on April 29, 1927. he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Tornatore Fiore.

Nunzio was a self-employed carpenter/contractor in the Altoona area for many years. He proudly served his country in the US Army 13th Calvary Division,Ft. Knox, Ky.during the second World War and received the WWII Victory medal.

On September 24, 1983 he married the love of his life, Janice Clowson, who survives at their home.

Nunzio was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel/ Assumption Chapel where he cheerfully served as a usher for over 60 years.

He was a former member of the Blair County Jaycees and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State fan.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lori (Mark Curtis) of Katy, TX., two grandsons, Alex of Austin, TX. and Charles of Altoona, and a stepson, Jeffrey Price. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cheryl Fiore.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 3rd., 2018 at 10:30am. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 11th St. Altoona, PA, with Father Leo Lynch as celebrant.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
