Pamela J. (Burkey) Royer, 48, of Rego Park, NY, formerly of Spring Mills, died Monday, October 19, 2009, at NYU Hospital Center-Tisch Hospital.
Born September 1, 1961 in Johnstown, PA a daughter of Donna Lea (Anderson) Eckenroth of Boalsburg and the late Alvin Burkey.
Pamela was a 1979 graduate of State College Area High School.
Pamela faithfully served our country in the U.S Navy in Communications, serving from 1980 to 1986 in Naples, Italy.
She was employed at Penn State from 1987 to 1999 as a staff assistant in the College of Education. She also worked for NASCAR as a Media Manager in the Multimedia Marketing department from 2000 to the present.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her two sons, Jermaine of Johnson City, NY, and Nathan of Spring Mills; her step-father, David Eckenroth of Boalsburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home, beginning at 10 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2009 with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
