Obituary of Patricia A. Praschunus, 66

Patricia A. Praschunus, 66, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2010, at home.

Born March 29, 1943, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mabel (Scholl) Savukinas. On Oct. 26, 1968, in Nanticoke, she married Robert J. Praschunus, who survives at home.

She was a graduate of Nanticoke Area High School Class of 1961 and a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was employed by Mount Nittany Medical Center in the Social Services Department. She was also employed at the Infant Evaluation Program and the Communication Station. She formerly worked for the Children Service Center of Wyoming Valley and Foster Wheeler Energy Group.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert Praschunus, of Harleysville; her daughter, Ruth Marie Kuzemchak and her husband, Scott of Manassas, Va.; three grandchildren, Gavin, Bryce and Ian; one brother, Anthony E. Savukinas and his wife, Betty, of Cape Vincent, N.Y.; and one sister, Sandy Cumberland and her husband, Al, of Nanticoke.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 6-8 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 12, 2010, at 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E Bishop St., Bellefonte, with Father Valentine J. Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery in Bellefonte.
