Obituary of Patty Jane Horgas , 80

Patty J. Hoover Horgas, age 80, died on September 30, 2012, after a long illness. Patty was born in 1932, in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Gerald F. and Martha Elizabeth Diehl Hoover. She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1950 and the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. For most of her adult life, she lived in Baldwin, a suburb of Pittsburgh. She worked as an RN in the ICU and ER at McKeesport Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1996. She greatly enjoyed working as a nurse, had many wonderful friends and touched many lives. In 2010, she relocated to State College, PA to be closer to family. Patty was married May 29, 1954 to her husband, Joseph J. Horgas. He was her primary caregiver as her health declined. She is also survived by her 5 children: J. Mark Horgas and his wife Amy, of State College, Thomas Horgos and his wife, Wendy Leppert, of Pine Grove Mills , Jay M. Horgas and his wife, Raeann, of State College, Ann L. Horgas and her husband, Michael Marsiske, of Gainesville, FL, and Patti J. Horgas, of Fairfax, VA and 9 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her only brother, Gerald Hoover formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
