Paul Alvin Drake, 88, of Hughestown, PA, formerly of Centre Hall, PA, died in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on July 15, 2013 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Drake married the love of his life, Heidi, who preceded him in death in 1987.

Born January 1, 1925 in Atlantic, Iowa he was the son of Frank Drake and Katherine Burg. Preceding him in death were five siblings: Doris Ordway, Ralph Drake, Kenneth Drake, Wilson Drake and Norman Drake.

Together they raised 5 children: Dorothee (late husband Tom) Felts, Jacksonville Florida; Paul (Lynda) Drake, Jacksonville, IL; Annette (Durant) McCurley, East Haven, CT; Michelle (Michael) Baldiga, Hughestown, PA; and Jean (Jeff) Randolph, Williamsburg, VA.

Mr. Drake is survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 nieces, and Jeter.

Mr. Drake was a highly decorated United States Army veteran serving for 23 years. He served in World War II in the Tank Corps and later as an Intelligence Interrogation Instructor. He served faithfully for the Social Security Administration until his retirement. Mr. Drake was elected to the Centre Hall Town Council and served for many years.

Mr. Drake will be remembered as a dedicated and devoted family man and a trusting, thoughtful, and considerate friend to all.

A private memorial for the family will be held at Heintzelman Funeral Home with burial at Union Cemetery in Millheim, PA.
