Paul F. "Bud" Wasson, 75, of Pine Grove Mills, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at home with his family by his side.

Born in Potter Township, Centre County, he was a son of the late Paul Abraham Wasson and Tessie Mae Cummings Wasson. On May 19, 1956, he married Louise Scheirer, who survives at home. Paul was a 1954 graduate of State College High School. He built two auger wagons and self unloading wagons in the ag class. These wagons were looked at by representatives of the John Deere Company as possible production models. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He spent his whole life on the family farm on Shingletown Road. In his earlier years, he helped his family in the milk processing and milk delivery business known as Aulworth Farms and most recently helped his son on the family farm. He helped with the mulch and produce stand, and trucked cattle to various sale barns in the area. Paul graduated from the Reish Auctioneer School in Iowa in August 1961. He auctioned at sales with Jack Smith and Harold Leightley. He taught all his children good work ethics.

Along with his wife Louise, he is survived by four children, Ronald A. Wasson and his wife, Candace, of State College, Darlene Bierly and her husband, David, of Centre Hall, Kenneth Wasson and his wife, Tammy, of Pine Grove Mills, and Todd Wasson and his wife, Jennifer, of Spring Mills; 14 grandchildren, LaTrisha Hough, Andrea Gill, Nichole Wasson, Krystal Wasson, Heather Wasson, Halee Wasson, Julie Smith, Troy Shultz, Mandee Bierly, Kenny Wasson, Jr., Matt Weaver, Kelsey Wasson, Kylee Wasson and Karlie Wasson; eight great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters, Harry E. Wasson, Linda Wasson, Lynn Wasson, John Wasson, Carl Wasson, Joe Wasson, Rosalie Corl and Dori Corl.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the funeral home, with Reverend Jeffrey B. Trawinski officiating. Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
